The Triangle Free Press is modeled after the Asheville Global report. Came about after identifying the need for a media outlet that could report under-reported or un-reported news for the Chapel Hill.

The Triangle Free Press is run by volunteers. By consensus. Funding by advertising and subscribers. Half of the paper is funded by ads and subscribers the other half comes from volunteers. TFP is trying to expand distribution, and they rely on volunteers but they need more.

New Southern Catholic Worker based out of Siler city is a great local resource. The NSCW reports on local actions.
