From Place Based Grass Roots Groups Political Action Web
As fossil fuels have made the planet a much smaller place in many regards, the rapid changes have served to alter not only the social fabric of our societies, but the large-scale ecosystems of the planet itself.
The changing world has seen the rise of transnational corporations who are not bound by nationalist tendencies, and who have been able to set up transnational institutions like the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, and World Trade Organization which are a direct challenge to democratic decision-making. The transnational corporations have served to concentrate wealth where it already existed, through capital investment, much like the cosmological universe started out with tiny fluctuations in density which gravitationally attracted surrounding matter and became clusters of galaxies over time.
This page is intended to provide a space for transnational dialogue of a different kind. While transnational corporations are free to use this space to organize, collaborate, and communicate their world-view, they already have the means to do so through their vast wealth. This space gives people around the world the ability to collaborate on the cheap, to communicate their world-view, and to coalesce around concrete political, social, economic, and ecological action that may spring forward.
